Welcome to the Nature Coast! Lets take a short boat ride through crystal clear waters to a very popular local hotspot called Sandy Hook. Sandy Hook is a shallow area in the middle of Ozello where, depending on the tide, the water can be anywhere from ankle deep to waist-high.

Welcome to the Nature Coast! Lets take a short boat ride through crystal clear waters to a very popular local hotspot called Sandy Hook. Sandy Hook is a shallow area in the middle of Ozello where, depending on the tide, the water can be anywhere from ankle deep to waist-high. Freedom Outdoors is a Eco Tour company based in Ozello, Fl offering daily adventures aboard our 23' Carolina Skiff. Prepare to be amazed at what our waterways have to offer along the Nature Coast. Scallop Season runs from July 1st - September 24th. Our snorkeling eco adventures run from May through October. Whatever your looking to do while on vacation we are sure to be able to accommodate all of your adventure needs.

Meet the Captain
Captain John McCarthy
Captain John grew up just south of Citrus County in a town called Dunedin, FL. At the ripe old age of 18 he joined the Army, taking a break from the Florida sunshine for 20 years. John lived in numerous places in the country throughout his long military career, including overseas at times, but his heart belonged to Florida. In 2016 he retired and moved to Citrus. There he fell in love with what the area had to provide. He especially loved the water and the peacefulness that it brought him. It was that freedom and the tranquility that showed him what his next adventure would be. Captain John is passionate about educating people, of all ages, on what his slice of heaven looks like. Whether that is swimming with the fishes or hanging out for the day at the sandbar.
